Winning the prize for one of the more interesting "school is closed" announcements in Minnesota this week is the principal of St. Odilia School.

St. Odilia, a private catholic school in Shoreview, was among the countless schools in Minnesota that shut down this week because of the extreme cold.

But principal Brian Ragatz chose a very on-trend way of announcing the closure to students, joining the growing number of school leaders to confirm snow days through the medium of song.

He explained on Facebook that his decision to rap the announcement came "after some positive peer pressure," and warned: "Don't expect this every time we close either!"

"So you may ask yourselves what you should do," he sings. "Read a book, play some Legos, build a puzzle or two.

"You may say Mr. Ragatz those aren't for me, then watch Fixer Upper seasons 1 through 3."
