David Letterman's last "Late Show" appearance is scheduled for May 20, so in a farewell gesture to the departing host, comedy powerhouse Tina Fey gave Letterman the dress off her back. Quite literally.

Fey appeared on the show wearing a striking white and gold dress (we're joking) but made it clear that Letterman is the only late night host worth "wearing a fancy dress on a talk show and conforming to gender norms" for.

She then vowed to never wear a dress again. "What, am I going to put on a dress for Jimmy [Fallon]?" quipped Fey. "That's creepy. He's like my brother. What, I'm going to wear special underwear for James Corden?"

"My gift to you is I want to give you the dress" Fey continued, before asking Letterman to help her unzip. The "30 Rock" star handed over her dress, revealing thigh shapers and custom Spanx – with a message just for Letterman.
