After going nearly a decade without an appearance in the state, Sir Paul McCartney is set to perform for the second time in Minnesota in the past 24 months.

The 73-year-old music icon is bringing his One on One tour to Target Center in Minneapolis on May 4, he announced Wednesday morning – news the Target Center had teased as a "concert announcement of royal proportions."

Tickets will go on sale March 21 at 10 a.m. – though you can get early access to tickets on March 17 by registering at PaulMcCartney.com by tomorrow morning, or being an American Express card holder.

Last time McCartney was in Minnesota, he played to a sellout crowd at Target Field in August of 2014. His three-hour set drew rave reviews. Until that point, he hadn't played in Minnesota since 2005.

Sir Paul's got eight dates for the One on One tour so far, including one in Sioux Falls on May 2. The Minneapolis stop is his last (at this point).

As with all his big tours in recent years, the show will include giant screens, fireworks and lasers. The music will cover McCartney's career, from The Beatles up through his most recent solo album, 2013's "New."
