Saturday marks the 9th Annual Winter Beer Dabbler, which will see beer drinkers from the Twin Cities and beyond join for a pint at the State Fairgrounds.

The event brings together the best craft beers Minnesota and the rest of the country has to offer, and has been a big date on the drinking calendar since launching in 2010.

Here's your primer for the festival.

Where and when

Minnesota State Fairgrounds, between 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The beers

A lot of them. Ticket-holders will be able to try unlimited samples from more than 160 breweries exhibiting at the event.

Among the many local brewers involved are 612Brew, Schell's, Bauhaus Brew Labs, Bent Paddle, Insight, Lift Bridge, Loon Juice, and Waconia Brewing.

You can find a list of vendors here.

The food

Eight local food trucks are confirmed for the event so there's a decent amount of variety.

Those attending include Potter's Pasties, Gerhard's Brats, Curious Goat, Gastrotruck, K-Town Street Foods, The Fabled Rooster, Market Bar-B-Que and Habenero Tacos.

Not only that, but Lunds & Byerly is bringing back its meat and cheese showcase, with samples from 23 local, national and international producers found inside the warmth of Warner Coliseum.

Entertainment

There will be live music at the Mighty Midway, with appearances from DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip, McNasty Brass Band and headliner, deM atlaS.

Elsewhere there will be events including the American Brewer Warrior competition – where brewery reps from around the country attempt a specially designed obstacle course.

There will also be bowling and beer pong at the midway, as well as a silent disco.

Getting around

You can get a copy of the festival map by clicking right here.

The weather

Erm...this might prove to be a bit of an issue, because the Twin Cities is expected to get another dump of more than 6 inches on Saturday.

The National Weather Service says that the most likely time for accumulating snow over the Twin Cities is 3 p.m., just after the beer dabbler starts.

So while conditions on the way into the event might be ok (if you get there early), it wear heavy boots and prepare for an interesting drive home.

Tickets

Online-only tickets are now sold out so your only chance of getting in is buying on the door – it'll set you back $55.

Otherwise you could see if there are any left over at the following stores.

Beer Dabbler Store – 1095 7th St. W., St. Paul, MN
