Who knows where Dylan was born? Apparently not Pete Townshend

How does it feel?

Bob Dylan might ask Pete Townshend that question after the Who guitarist's onstage slip of the tongue – or slip of the map, actually.

To be fair, though, let's give Townshend some credit for knowing that Duluth is Dylan's birthplace.

The only problem is that when Townshend offered his onstage shout-out he was in Duluth, Georgia.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reviewed the Who's concert in Duluth (The one that's a suburb of Atlanta).

Reviewer Melissa Ruggieri writes that at one point in the show Townshend explained how he didn't mind playing in Duluth because he loves Bob Dylan. And, he proclaimed, "Dylan was born here."

No word of anyone setting Pete straight about the whole Georgia/Minnesota thing. But the Star Tribune suggests he won't get fooled again when The Who come to Dylan's actual birth state for an Oct. 10 show in Minneapolis.

While Dylan was born in Duluth (Minnesota), he spent only six years there before his family moved to Hibbing, The Current tells us in a blog post offering 10 things to know about Dylan and Duluth.

Roadside America calls Dylan's boyhood home on North Third Avenue a necessary stop for diehard fans.

The week-long Duluth Dylan Fest gets underway in the Zenith City on May 17. The fifth annual festival will include a singer/songwriter contest, along with other events outlined on their Facebook page.

Who will be attending?

Well, Pete Townshend might be in his hometown of London, Ontario.

Sorry, make that London, England.
