Oscar-winning actress and "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg is coming back to the Guthrie stage to help the theater celebrate its 50th anniversary, The Associated Press reports.

The celebration, "Behold: A Gala Performance," is set for June 22.

Word of Goldberg's appearance comes after the Guthrie announcement that acting alum T.R. Knight would be returning for the show.

Goldberg last appeared on the Guthrie stage in May 1998 for a five-night engagement.

The Guthrie also announced that alum Daniel Gerroll (Scrooge in the 2010 Guthrie production of "A Christmas Carol") and his wife, Patricia Kalember ("Sisters," "thirtysomething") are also joining the celebration.
