Wizard World Comic Con will not return to Twin Cities this year

It's been in Minneapolis four years in a row.

Bad news for Minnesota cosplayers, Wizard World is not bringing Comic Con back to the Twin Cities this year.

The event has been held at the Minneapolis Convention Center for each of the past four years.

But a look at the Wizard World website shows Minneapolis is not on the schedule, with any Minnesota fans having to travel to Chicago or Des Moines to get their fix.

The convention center has confirmed to CityPages that it will not play host to the comic book and superhero extravaganza in 2018.

However, it says it would try to bring it back to the metro area in the future should the opportunity arise.

But while it won't play host to Wizard World this year, the Midwest Comic Book Association will be holding its MSP ComiCon at the State Fairgrounds on the weekend of May 19-20.

More information on this event can be found here.
