A State Fair favorite is making its debut at Twin Cities grocery stores.
Nordic Waffles, known for its heart-shaped waffle/crepe hybrids that come in savory and sweet forms, has announced its "All Day Breakfast" waffle can now be found in the freezer section of Lunds & Byerlys.
The brainchild of "Waffle Queen" Stine Aasland, Nordic Waffles first made a noise in Minnesota when it landed a stand at the Minnesota State Fair for the first time in 2018.
Since then, Nordic Waffles are carried by numerous restaurants and coffee shops across Minnesota, and opened its first bricks-and-mortar location at the revamped Potluck food hall at Rosedale Center last year.
The All Day Breakfast waffle will be sold frozen as a two-pack, comprising a traditional Nordic waffle filled with eggs, thick cut bacon, and cheddar cheese.
And it looks like Lunds & Byerlys will be the first of many to carry the waffles, with Nordic Waffles saying on its Facebook page that it has "most grocers coming soon."
