The mother of the Lakeland teen musician who touched the world with his song "Clouds" before he died in May is writing an inspirational book about her son, the Pioneer Press reports.

Laura Sobiech has sold the North American rights to the book -- also titled "Clouds" -- to Christian book publisher Thomas Nelson.

The publishing house tells Publisher's Weekly that "Clouds" will share with readers "the story behind the music and the boy behind the phenomenon."

Thomas Nelson compares the inspirational book to the megaseller "The Last Lecture."

Laura Sobiech tells the Pioneer Press that the book will be released on May 20, 2014, which is the first anniversary of her son's death. Zach Sobiech turned 18 on May 3.

"I think there is a story underneath what everybody has heard that should be told, too," Laura Sobiech tells the paper. She says she's "always been more interested in the spiritual side of things and thread of what God did for us and for Zach," and that was the story she wanted to tell.

Sobiech died three years after his diagnosis with a rare form of bone cancer. In the interim, he wrote and recorded "Clouds," and the video of song went on to get 7.7 million hits on YouTube.

"Clouds" also topped the Billboard Digital Rock Songs chart as well as the iTunes sales chart.

The song also inspired a tribute video featuring several Hollywood celebrities, and Sobiech's family and friends, which nabbed 2.9 million hits on YouTube.
