1 dead, 1 injured after fiery crash in southern Minnesota
A fiery crash in southern Minnesota Friday morning claimed the life of one driver and sent another to the hospital.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that the two-vehicle collision happened around 5:40 a.m. on Hwy. 218 about one mile south of Blooming Prairie, Dodge County. Per the report, the driver of a Toyota Camry was traveling south on the highway and collided with a northbound GMC Acadia.
The Camry started on fire after the crash, and its driver was killed.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Keith Prescott Crape, of Austin, Minnesota. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.
A 44-year-old Austin man driving the Acadia was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin with non-life-threatening injuries.
Road conditions were described as "snow/ice" in the crash report.
