1 dead, 1 injured in Bloomington crash involving motorcycle, semi

A man was killed and a woman seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi Wednesday afternoon in Bloomington. 

The fatal accident happened just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of York Avenue and Baillif Place. A report from Bloomington police says the tractor trailer and motorcycle collided, with a 65-year-old male driving the motorcycle suffering fatal injuries and the adult female passenger taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries. 

The semi and motorcycle were both traveling westbound on Baillif Place, and the crash occurred when the semi attempted to turn southbound onto York Avenue.

A 29 year old driving the semi was not injured. 

The crash is being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and Bloomington police.
