A funeral for one of two people killed in a mass shooting outside a Minneapolis nightclub in May resulted in more death when gunfire erupted Friday afternoon.

According to Minneapolis Police Department, the shooting was reported at 12:41 p.m. on the 1200 block of West Broadway Avenue in north Minneapolis. More specifically, it happened outside the Shiloh Temple at 1201 West Broadway.

Police spokesperson John Elder says officers found a man in his late 20s in critical condition at the scene. They rendered aid and paramedics transported him to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, where police learned that he had died around 2:30 p.m.

Another gunshot victim, an adult male, also arrived at North Memorial via private transport. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

As police were en route to the report of the shooting they spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle. Police stopped the driver near Cretin Avenue in St. Paul and several people were arrested. It's unclear if the shooter or shooters were arrested.

The funeral was for Christopher Robert Jones, who was killed in a shooting outside the Monarch nightclub in downtown Minneapolis in May. A University of St. Thomas student was also killed, in addition to eight others injured in the May shooting.
