1 dead after camper crashes, catches fire in western Wisconsin

One person is dead following a camper RV crashing and catching fire just across the Minnesota border in Polk County, Wisconsin. 

The Polk County Sheriff's Office received a report at 4:37 p.m. Saturday of a camper on fire in the south ditch off of Ravine Drive approximately two miles east of the Village of Dresser. 

Local firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze before finding that one person inside the vehicle had died. 

An investigation revealed that the camper was going east on Ravine Drive when it left the roadway to the right, going into the ditch where it hit several trees and ignited. 

The victim's identity has not been released and the crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
