One motorist died in a crash Wednesday in Mahnomen County, northwest Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling north on Hwy. 59 in Bejou Township when the driver lost control, spun into the southbound lanes of traffic and collided with a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan.

The driver of the Crown Victoria, a 78-year-old Fosston woman, was killed in the crash. Her identity is expected to be released later Thursday.

A man and woman, both 63 and from Underwood, Minnesota, were in the Caravan. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals for care.

The State Patrol said road conditions were "snow/ice" at the time (11:12 a.m.) of the crash.
