1 dead after head-on crash with dump truck in central Minnesota

It happened north of Annandale, Minnesota.

A 74-year-old man was killed when the vehicle he was driving hit a dump truck head-on on Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Roland Cornelius Johnson of Annandale was driving a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country southbound on Hwy. 24 in Corinna Township when he veered into the northbound lane. The driver of the dump truck in the northbound lane reacted by moving to the left, but Johnson corrected back and hit the dump truck head-on.

Johnson did not survive his injuries. The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries that didn't require treatment at a hospital.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. near the east side of Clearwater Lake, which is located north of Annandale in Wright County.
