The victim of a late-night shooting in Minneapolis has died after being taken to the hospital.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 10:55 p.m. Thursday in the 2900 block of Grand Ave. S., and upon arrival they located a man suffering from injuries. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance and died Friday morning, police said in a news release.
Minneapolis police have opened a homicide investigation into the fatal shooting.
The scene has been processed and investigators canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance video.
The victim's identity and official cause of death will be released at a later date by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
