1 dead in broadside crash involving semi, pickup in northwest Minnesota
A collision between a pickup and a semi left one person dead in northwest Minnesota Monday afternoon.
The crash happened just prior to 3:30 p.m. in Lake Park Township, Becker County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The crash reports says a motorist was driving a Chevy Silverado and attempted to cross eastbound Hwy. 10 when he was struck by a semi.
The driver of the Silverado, a 75-year-old man from Lake Park, Minnesota, died in the crash. His full identity has not been released.
The semi driver, identified as a 46-year-old Staples man, was not injured.
According to the state's office of traffic safety, there have been 357 deaths on Minnesota roads so far in 2020, which is just seven shy of 2019's total. At the same point in 2019, there were 326 fatalities.
