A 52-year-old motorist died in a crash in southwest Minnesota Friday afternoon.

The State Patrol reports that Tod A. Wilkinson, of Lake Benton, was driving a Toyota RAV4 westbound on Hwy. 14 in Verdi Township when he collided with a semi in what was described as a "right angle crash."

The collision happened around 4:50 p.m. near 170th Ave. in the Lincoln County community, and roads were impacted by snow and ice.

Wilkinson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the State Patrol said.
