The northbound lanes of Interstate 694 in Oakdale have reopened following a fatal crash on Sunday morning.

Just after 10:30 a.m., a 2018 Chevy Silverado drifted onto the right shoulder and struck a 2011 Lincoln MKS that was stopped near Stillwater Boulevard North, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the stopped Lincoln was outside the vehicle at the time, and the impact threw him ahead and caused fatal injuries. The man has only been identified as a 46-year-old from Minneapolis.

The Silverado, driven by a 70-year-old Stillwater man, continued down the right shoulder after hitting the Lincoln and then veered left and struck a 2018 Buick Regal. The Silverado then veered back to the right across all lanes of traffic before coming to a stop in the ditch.

It's not yet clear if others involved in the crash were injured.

There was a 52-year-old Minneapolis woman riding as a passenger in the Lincoln, and the driver of the Buick has been ID'd as a 28-year-old woman from Sacramento, California.
