1 dead in head-on crash with semi passing another vehicle near Owatonna

A woman was killed and a man critically injured when their car was hit head-on by a semi near Owatonna on Saturday afternoon. 

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that the crash happened on Hwy. 14 in Havana Township at about 4:55 p.m. when a semi traveling eastbound attempted to pass another vehicle, and while doing so struck a 2008 Pontiac G6 head-on. 

The passenger in the car, identified as Allison Christine Anderson, 67, of Owatonna, was killed in the crash. The driver of the car, 58-year-old Todd Richard Anderson, also of Owatonna, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. 

The driver and passenger in the semi were men from Blaine, ages 29 and 28, respectively, and neither was injured. 

Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.
