1 dead in overnight shooting in north Minneapolis

Minneapolis police are investigating a homicide following a shooting in north Minneapolis during the overnight hours of Sunday morning. 

At approximately 12:25 a.m., officers from the Fourth Precinct were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Plymouth Ave. N., and on arrival they found a shooting victim. 

They administered first aid prior to the arrival of paramedics, who transported the man to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died from his injuries. 

The victim's identity has not been released and no arrests have been made. An official cause of death and the release of the victim's identity will be made public at a later stage by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office. 

Investigators canvassed the scene, searching for possible witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.
