A motorcyclist was killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis on Sunday night.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened at about 9:08 p.m. when a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-94 crashed head-on with a 2018 Kia Stinger at Broadway Avenue.
The motorcyclist, identified as Sergio Jaime Silva, 26, of Faribault, was pronounced dead at the scene. Silva was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the car, a 48-year-old man from St. Paul, was not injured.
Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.
According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, there have been 66 deaths on Minnesota roads so far in 2019, compared to 55 at the same time last year.
