1 injured when car backs in front of school bus on icy road in west-central Minnesota

Students were on the bus at the time but weren't injured.

A school bus carrying children was involved in an injury crash in west-central Minnesota on Monday. 

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports that the crash happened at 4:15 p.m. in Millerville when a car backed out of a driveway directly into the path of the the school bus. The bus was traveling downhill on an ice- and- snow-covered road and was unable to stop before slamming into the passenger side of the car. 

Nobody on the bus was injured but the passenger in the car was taken to Sanford Health in Alexandria with minor injuries. 

Parents of students on the bus were notified by the Brandon/Evansville School District. 

Millerville is a town of just over 100 people, located north of Interstate 94 between Alexandria and Fergus Falls.
