1 killed in crash involving Cadillac, Ford pickup near Sauk Centre

One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in central Minnesota on Saturday. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Hwy. 71 near Sauk Centre. The crash report says a 2007 Cadillac was headed south on the highway when it swerved into the northbound lane and was hit by a 1998 Ford pickup. 

A 33-year-old man from Sauk Centre driving the Cadillac died in the crash. His name is expected to be released later Sunday. 

A 30-year-old Sauk Centre woman was driving the pickup and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported by ambulance to CentraCare - St. Cloud. 


Cadillac was southbound on highway 71 near milepost 170 when it swerved in to the northbound lane and was struck by a Ford pickup. The Cadillac continued in to the east side ditch and struck 2 trees. The Ford pickup came to rest on the northbound shoulder on its side.
