1 man shot dead, another wounded on St. Paul's East Side

Police responded to a report of shots fired around noon Saturday.

Saint Paul police are investigating a homicide that happened on the city's East Side Saturday. 

According to Sg. Mike Ernster, police were sent to the 1400 block of East Minnehaha Ave. around noon on a report of shots fired. Once there, people at the scene said someone who may have been a victim left left the area in a red van. 

That van was located near Bush Ave. and Bradley Street, with officers finding two men in the van, both having sustained gunshot wounds. 

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to Regions Hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. 

The identity of the man who was killed will be released at a later stage by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. 

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call St. Paul police at 651-266-5650.
