Minneapolis police responded to a call in the area of Franklin and Chicago avenues around 10:20 p.m., where they found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where one of the victims died several hours later. The other victim, who was originally listed in "very serious condition," died Sunday afternoon, police said in a second news release.

Police said the suspect fled from the scene before officers arrived, noting no one is in custody at this time. Investigators are interviewing people in the area and looking for surveillance video in connection with the case.

The medical examiner will release the identities of the victims.

This wasn't the only shooting in Minneapolis over the weekend. At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, a verbal altercation between people in two parked cars and pedestrians on the sidewalk near the University of Minnesota led to a shooting, police wrote on Facebook.

The driver of a gray sedan pulled forward and fired one shot in the direction of the pedestrians, hitting an adult female in the arm. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for the suspect who fired the weapon, describing him as a black male, 20 or 21 years old, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with black hair in dreads with highlighted tips, police said.

Anyone with information on either of these shootings is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or call the MPD tip line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
