1 person dead, firefighter injured in Columbia Heights townhome blaze
One person died and a firefighter was injured while fighting a blaze at a townhome in Columbia Heights Sunday evening.
According to authorities, a 911 call was made around 5:15 p.m. to report a fire at a townhome in the 700 block of Sullivan Way. On arrival, firefighters reported that the townhouse was fully engulfed in fire.
The body of the victim, believed to be the owner of the residence, was found on the main level.
A firefighter was also transported to North Memorial Hospital with back injuries after falling through a floor to the basement. The firefighter's injuries are not life-threatening.
Ham Lake Fire Department, Coon Rapids Fire Department and the Anoka County Sheriff assisted the scene.
