1 suspect arrested after 22-year-old killed in Lino Lakes
An arrest has been made in connection to a homicide that happened last Thursday, Aug. 27 in Lino Lakes.
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest Sunday of one suspect in the killing of 22-year-old Karl Mitchell Henderson, who was found dead inside a home after an apparent struggle that ended when Henderson was fatally shot.
Authorities did not release the identity of the suspect, nor any motive for the slaying.
The suspect is being held in custody and questioned by detectives. Authorities are also no longer looking for the GMC Terrain SUV pictured at the top of the story, as it was initially deemed a vehicle of interest having been seen in the area where the homicide took place.
Authorities announced Friday that the father of the victim came home to find two individuals leaving out the front door and fleeing the scene; inside, he discovered his adult son with what would prove to be fatal gunshot wounds.
Despite the lifesaving efforts of paramedics, Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case remains under investigation and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff's office at 763-427-1212.
A GoFundMe for Henderson's family has so far raised in excess of $8,500. The campaign's fundraising goal is $10,000.
