One person was shot and another taken into custody following a shooting in north Minneapolis late Sunday night.

It happened at around 9:00 p.m. on the 3400 block of Queen Ave N., according to Minneapolis Scanner.

Police say both the alleged shooter and the victim are female, KSTP reports.

No information about the two women or what led up to the shooting has been made available, but the Star Tribune says the victim's wounds were "noncritical."

The paper adds that police recovered a gun at the scene and have started an investigation into the incident.

Gun violence has been an ongoing problem for Minneapolis, with a number of high-profile shootings occurring in the past few months.

According to an MPR report, this is despite a dip in the city's overall crime rate.

And even though shootings have been decreasing for the past few years, the station notes that as of October, 195 people had been shot in Minneapolis throughout 2018.
