1-year-old dies in drowning incident in southern Minnesota

The drowning death of a 1-year-old child in southern Minnesota has been ruled accidental. 

According to the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office, the drowning was reported in Bristol Township at 5:23 p.m. Friday. The 911 caller reported that the 1-year-old child fell into a bucket of water. 

An ambulance and sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the residence on the 11000 block of Journey Road, where lifesaving measures were attempted before the 1-year-old was pronounced dead. 

The sheriff's office continues to investigate, although the child's death has been ruled an accidental drowning. No further information has been provided.
