A 10-year-old Wisconsin girl who was reported missing Monday evening has been found dead.
Baraboo Police Department confirmed Tuesday that Kodie Dutcher, who was the subject of an AMBER Alert Monday night, was found dead near her home in Baraboo. Her body was discovered in the area of 11th St. and County Hwy. T.
"We believe that she did leave on her own. And we do believe that she may be in danger due to the ingestion of some medications," said Baraboo Police Capt. Sinden, according to WKOW.
Dutcher was reported missing around 5:40 p.m. Monday, with officers responding to an apartment on the 1100 block of 12th St. where the girl's mother suggested that she "threatened self-harm," Baraboo PD said in a release.
"Officers immediately searched the area around the residence. Additional assistance from Baraboo Fire Department and Wisconsin Dells K-9 expanded the search area on foot," police said, noting that a drone also aided in the search efforts.
Search efforts on foot resumed Tuesday, with police announcing the discovery of her body at noon.
Baraboo is located about 100 miles east of the Minnesota border.
