A 13-year-old boy behind the wheel of a Chevy Impala led police on a 100 mph chase in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police attempted a traffic stop on State Hwy. 78 north of Ottertail City just after 3 a.m., but the Chevy continued northbound with the driver refusing to stop.

An Otter Tail County Sheriff's Deputy pursued at speeds reaching 100 mph, while tire delation devices were unsuccessfully deployed.

Eventually, the Impala crashed south of Perham, with police finding that behind the wheel was a 13-year-old boy, while another 13-year-old boy was in the passenger seat.

The boys weren't injured, with police later learning that the Chevy had been stolen earlier in Deer Creek.

The driver was taken to the Moorhead Juvenile Detention Center, while the passenger was released to a relative.

Both of the boys live in Otter Tail County.
