More than a dozen people protesting in Minneapolis Tuesday night have been arrested.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, a "large group" of people gathered in the area of Lake Street and Lyndale Avenue, in the Uptown area of Minneapolis,
Police say the group marched down the street, blocked traffic and shot off "large" fireworks. They also spray-painted the outside of businesses, threw debris and traffic signs into the street, and are believed to have started fires.
When police approached the group, they say the group "shot the fireworks at officers and failed to obey commands by the police."
Police ended up arresting 12 women and a man for probable cause riot and one woman for probable cause riot and fourth-degree assault, noting the arrests were made to "preserve public safety and restore order."
