A child's death after being rushed to a hospital is now the subject of an investigation by police in Fargo.

According to Fargo PD, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 2300 block of 17th St. S. on Friday, Nov. 20 around 10:30 p.m. on a report of an unconscious and unresponsive 15-month-old girl.

Officers performed lifesaving medical aid at the scene before the girl was transported to a local hospital, where she died Nov. 24.

Few details have been released but Fargo PD is now investigating the circumstances that led to the child's death. Police are also awaiting autopsy and toxicology results from the medical examiner.

The results from the medical examiner will "provide detectives with the necessary information needed to determine whether a crime has been committed," the department said in a release.

No arrests have been made at this point.

"Detectives have been working closely with the family, and will continue to keep them up to date regarding the progress of the investigation," Fargo PD added. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the child’s family during this difficult time."
