A teenage driver is dead following a crash involving a MnDOT truck and a semi in west-central Minnesota on Monday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, an 18-year-old female driving a Ford Taurus north on Hwy. 59 south of Morris collided with a MnDOT truck working on the shoulder of the road. The impact forced the teen's car into the southbound lane of the highway, where her vehicle was then struck by a semi.

The fatal accident happened just before 12:30 p.m. on the highway near Country Road 8 in Stevens County.

Madeline Noelle Gorham, 18, of Montevideo, was the driver of the Taurus. She was airlifted to a hospital in Fargo but did not survive her injuries.

The drivers of the MnDOT truck and semi were uninjured.
