An 18-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash in St. Paul late Saturday night.

St. Paul Police Department and paramedics were alerted to a crash with injuries at 11:45 p.m., with witnesses saying a vehicle struck a bridge support and rolled several times near the intersection of Pierce Butler Route and Oxford Street.

On arrival, officers found the driver of a Toyota RAV4 gravely injured, with Saint Paul Fire medics pronouncing him dead at the scene.

He has been identified as Allen Norman Thoresen, 18, of St. Paul.

Witnesses told police that the RAV4 was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a concrete bridge abutment under Lexington Parkway, then rolled several time before coming to a rest at Pierce Butler and Oxford.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
