19-year-old Lanesboro man killed in rollover crash

It happened Saturday night in Fillmore County.

A 19-year-old man was killed in a crash in southeastern Minnesota Saturday night.

The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office says the rollover crash happened on County Road 12 a mile east of Hwy. 52 at around 10 p.m.

Responders arrived to find the driver, a Lanesboro man, unresponsive and lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful.

More details about the crash are expected to be released later this week, including the victim's identity, which will not be released till his family has been notified.

It comes as Minnesota experiences its deadliest years on its roads for more than a decade.

The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety says there have been 311 deaths on state roads so far in 2021, with the 300 mark being passed at the earliest date since 2007.
