A welfare check at a house  in central Minnesota on Tuesday resulted in the discovery of two dead bodies.

The Aitkin County Sheriff's Office conducted the welfare check at a home southeast of McGregor in Spalding Township.

The doors to the home were locked so deputies forced their way inside and found the bodies of two adults.

Their causes of death hasn't been announced, nor have their identities pending review by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting on the case and the sheriff's office says it's unlikely that there is any threat to the public.
