Police investigating the homicide of a man whose body was found in a farm field east of Willmar have made two arrests.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office announced it has arrested two people in connection with the death of David Medellin Jr.
The 24-year-old's body was found in a plowed field near the intersection of 49th Street NE and 8th Avenue NE on Halloween afternoon.
A medical examiner determined that Medellin Jr.'s death was a homicide, and the two individuals arrested on Monday have been booked into jail.
They are facing charges of 2nd degree murder and liability for the crimes of another.
The names of the suspects will be released when they are formally charged.
Medellin's mother, Yesenia Alonzo, and his fiancee, Felicia Rodriguez, told the West Central Tribune that they'd last heard from him on Oct. 24, and was on his way to meet Rodriguez but never showed up.
"He was so kind to people," his mother told the newspaper. "He would go out of his way to help people. He loved people."
The case has been investigated by the sheriff's office, Willmar PD, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and C-VI Drug and Gang Task Force.
