Court documents released Thursday give witness accounts of the events surrounding a deadly shooting at Nina's Grill in Burnsville last weekend, but provide few clues as to what happened to a missing 20-year-old woman.

The Dakota County Attorney's Office charged 31-year-old Anthony Lee Nelson, also known as Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, with second-degree murder and his alleged girlfriend, 24-year-old Ashley Marie Conrade, with aiding an offender.

A judge has set conditional bail at $1.5 million for Nelson and unconditional bail at $2 million. According to a KMSP TV report Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom will seek a grand-jury to increase the charges to first-degree murder.

Additionally a KSTP TV report says Burnsville police have identified Chavez-Nelson as a person of interest in the disappearance of Anarae Schunk.

The cousin of shooting victim Palagor Obang Jobi, 23, told investigators that he, his brother, and Jobi left Nina's at 1:45 a.m. on Sept. 22. Outside, Jobi started talking to Conrade, according to the witness.

The cousin said Nelson approached Jobi and "told the victim that Conrade was his girlfriend and to stop talking to her," the complaint states.

At some point, Jobi allegedly punched Nelson and the two men stumbled to the side of a parked car before gunshots were fired.

The witness said he jumped on Nelson and slapped the handgun away from him, which set off the gun again. Nelson allegedly scrambled to get up, grabbed the gun and took off.

Another witness who was inside the parked car recognized Nelson because he had made "lewd" comments to her at the bar earlier that night. She watched Nelson pull out a weapon and "saw 4 or 5 flashes of gun shots and saw the victim go down."

Police found Jobi dead in the parking lot. He had been shot eight times, according to the complaint.

Conrade told investigators that she left the bar with Nelson and Schunk, who was reported missing by her family on Monday.

Conrade said Nelson was driving her vehicle, which he parked in a nearby cul de sac where they watched police officers respond to Nina's. The three then went to Conrade's home in Rosemount.

On Tuesday, police set up a perimeter outside Conrade's townhome complex. Officers spotted Nelson driving out of the complex and attempted to pull him over. Nelson allegedly fled the vehicle into a quarry where he surrendered.

Several police officers were searching on foot for Schunk on Wednesday. She is not considered a suspect in the case.

Friends say Schunk is Nelson's ex-girlfriend and friends said the two had been dating on and off.

Authorities say a private citizen is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Schunk.

Here is a report from Fox 9 on the story.
