2 Coon Rapids men in critical condition after motorcycles collide on Highway 169
Two men from Coon Rapids are fighting for their lives after colliding motorcycles on Saturday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on Hwy. 169 near Brooklyn Boulevard/77th Avenue in Brooklyn Park.
The two riders were going north on 169 when the driver of a blue Yamaha motorcycle traveling at a fast rate of speed collided with a red Honda motorcycle in front of him.
Both riders were wearing helmets but suffered life-threatening injuries. They were transported to North Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the 2006 Yamaha is a 28 year old from Coon Rapids and the driver of the 2008 Honda is a 34 year old from Coon Rapids.
On Friday, a 40-year-old man from Brooklyn Park died when he crashed his super bike on Interstate 694 near the Interstate 94 interchange.
