2 dead, 4 injured after SUV misses stop sign, collides with car in Renville County

Authorities are investigating a deadly crash in rural Minnesota after a compact SUV is believed to have missed a stop sign and collided with a car Sunday morning. 

According to the Renville County Sheriff's Office, the crash was reported at 11:33 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 1 and County Road, about eight miles south of Danube in Henryville Township. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Mitsubish Outlander was traveling west on County Road 4 when it ran a stop sign and collided with a 2007 Buick LaCrosse that was going south on County Road 1. 

Both vehicles went into the ditch and overturned. 

The drivers of both vehicles died at the scene while four others in the car were injured. 

Three people were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and another passenger was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center with critical injuries. 

Identities of the victims have not been released.
