2 dead after semis collide on highway in northwest Minnesota

Details are limited but the Minnesota State Patrol has confirmed that two people are dead following a crash involving semi trucks in northwest Minnesota. 

The crash happened just after 5 a.m. at Hwy. 9 and County road 41 in Polk County, within Russia Township.

The State Patrol says two semi trucks collided north of the intersection on the highway, resulting in two fatalities. 

Identities of the victims have not been released, although the State Patrol says one of the victims was the a 65-year-old Crookston man, who was driving one of the semis.

No further information is available at this time. 

The crash happened not too far south of Crookston.
