2 dead in crash involving Dodge Ram on Interstate 90 in southern Minnesota
Two people are dead following a single-vehicle crash on a snow and ice-covered Interstate 90 in southern Minnesota.
The deadly crash happened just after 7 a.m. Thursday on westbound I-90 near Mile Marker 201 in Pleasant Valley Township, southwest of Rochester. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, four people were traveling in a 2010 Dodge Ram when the driver lost control, with the vehicle entering the median and coming to a rest in the eastbound lanes.
The driver, 45-year-old Antonio Padillaibarra, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a passenger, 18-year-old Eduardo Padilla, also of Tulsa, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither victim was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
Two other passengers, men, ages 39 and 18, respectively, both from Colombia, Missouri, were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
