A search for a suspect is underway in central Minnesota after two people were found dead inside a residence in rural Long Prairie.

The Todd County Sheriff's Office issued a release saying it received a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the caller saying they found their friend dead. The 911 caller had texted the victim the day prior and went to his home Wednesday to conduct a welfare check because the friend never responded.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found the man and a woman dead inside the home, with the sheriff's office noting that they were found under "suspicious circumstances."

Their identities have not been released.

Investigators have identified a suspect as 22-year-old Dylan John Bennett, who is believed to be driving a blue 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe with license plate number BCK-487.

Bennett is not considered a threat to the public "at this time," according to the release, which cites evidence gathered at the scene.

The crime scene is being processed with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
