2 Gander Mountains in MN will stay open, uncertain future for the other 7
Camping World announced it will be keeping at least 70 Gander Mountain stores open after buying the bankrupt retailer out – and two of those saved are in Minnesota.
In a tweet on Monday, Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis confirmed Gander Mountain's Forest Lake and Lakeville stores will remain in operation.
Lemonis posted a list of around 50 stores (see below) that won't be shut down, with the remaining ones yet to be announced.
Not mentioned on the list are stores in Blaine, Eden Prairie, St. Cloud, Bemidji, Duluth, Rochester and Baxter. So it seems highly likely that at least some of them will close.
However, Lemonis did suggest in a tweet on Friday that the store in Hermantown would remain open, despite "closing down sale" signs appearing at the location.
The CEO, who has a reality TV show on CNBC, said this was the work of liquidators who bought some of Gander Mountain's stock rather than Camping World.
