3 Girl Scouts, 1 adult killed in Wisconsin hit-and-run

Three Girl Scouts and one adult have been killed in a hit-and-run near Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The collision happened at around 11:41 a.m. on County Road P at the 29 overpass in Lake Hallie, where a Girl Scout troop was picking up trash from the road.

Three Girl Scouts and an adult were killed in the collision, the Lake Hallie Police Department has confirmed. Another Girl Scout was critically injured.

Police launched a search for the driver of a black or grey Ford F-150, which left the scene after the collision.

A 21-year-old man from Chippewa Falls later turned himself in.

"The Lake Hallie Police Department would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the families involved," the department wrote on Facebook.
