2 Harley Davidson motorcyclists killed in freak accident involving tractor in southern Minnesota

The crash happened about 40 miles southwest of Eden Prairie.

A couple on a motorcycle died Saturday in a freak accident involving a tractor. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, two people on a 2016 Harley Davidson were eastbound on Hwy. 19 in Arlington Township at approximately 4:06 p.m. when a farm trailer separated from a tractor, then drifted into the eastbound lane where the Harley collided with it. 

The farm trailer was being hauled by a 1977 International Tractor 1086 that was traveling westbound on Hwy. 19. The collision sent the trailer and motorcycle into the ditch. 

Both people on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. They've been identified as Marvin Duane Fandrich, 60, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Kathy Lynn Fandrich, 61, of Aberdeen. 

Both were wearing a helmet.

The driver of the tractor, a 60-year-old man from Arlington, Minnesota, was not injured.

The site of the crash in Arlington Township is about 40 miles southwest of Eden Prairie.
