A pair of homicides are under investigation in Minneapolis, with police being alerted to both cases at approximately 9:45 p.m. Thursday.
According to Minneapolis PD, officers were sent to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale on a report of a potential homicide. Deputies from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department had found a male dead in a vehicle near the parking ramp to the hospital, and it appeared that the victim had been shot.
"At this time, the location where this occurred is unknown, but there were several shots fired calls earlier in the evening and it is believed that the incident may have occurred in Minneapolis," said Minneapolis PD in a release.
The identity of the victim has not been released and an investigation is ongoing.
The second homicide case was reported around 9:45 p.m. in the 700 block of 14th St. E., with officers responding to a report of a person with a gun, then learning while en route that there was a shooting.
Officers and paramedics provided medical assistance to a man who'd been shot before an ambulance transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center. He was in grave condition, police said, and he died several hours later in the hospital.
His identity has not been released and an investigation is underway.
