2 killed in another shooting in Minneapolis, 1 arrest made

Five people have died in shootings in Minneapolis since Friday night.

Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and another injured on Sunday morning. 

A 911 call at 9:44 a.m. reported a shooting on the 2600 block of Emerson Ave. N. in Minneapolis. Officers responded to the location and found one man shot dead and two other men suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Both men were taken by ambulance to North Memorial Health Hospital, which is located about two miles from the scene of the shooting. One of the men died as a result of his injuries. 

A "complex" investigation into the double homicide involved interviews with numerous people, which led to one arrest. However, anyone who can help police with more information can anonymously contact them by calling 1-800-222-8477. 

The identity of the victims and exact cause of death will be provided at a later date by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office. 

This has been a deadly weekend in Minneapolis. Three people were killed in two separate shootings on Friday night, in addition to a murder in St. Paul on Friday morning.
